Mula kasi noong mag grade five sya at may mga klasmeyts na syang nagbabasa ng facebook pls lang daw wag na ako magpopost ng mga things about him :)) Kaya lang noong isang araw di ko mapigil yung tawa ko habang naglalakad kami sa guilford mall. First time kasi namin sa mall na yun at nalilibang sya na nagbabasa ng mga pangalan ng mga tindahan at nakasabit na mga tarpaulin na nadadaanan namin.

Solons defend blogger sued by DSWD for libel

MANILA, Philippines—The blogger slapped with a libel case for claiming that relief goods were left to rot in a government agency warehouse may find comfort in the fact that some lawmakers are siding with her.

Kabataan Representative Raymond Palatino on Monday warned that the filing of a libel case against the blogger identified as “Jade Ceres Dolor,” “Jade Ceres Violet Dolor,” and “Ella Rose delos Santos” could deter other bloggers from criticizing the government and exposing its shortcomings.

The blogger, in her website, reportedly alleged that employees of the Department of Social Welfare and Development had hoarded relief goods that were donated for the victims of the devastating Tropical Storm “Ondoy” (international name: Ketsana) and Typhoon “Pepeng” (international name: Parma).

Social Welfare Secretary Esperanza Cabral had taken exception to the blog entry and her complaint to the National Bureau of Investigation about the entry led to the libel case.

“I’m concerned about its dangerous impact on press freedom and on blogging,” Palatino said in the House minority’s regular press conference Monday. “Is this a warning to bloggers to think twice in criticizing and exposing those in government?”

He said that bloggers have a right to be anonymous. Anyway, government officials have a lot of platforms where they could air their side, he added.

He also pointed out that after the blog entry came out, many people had volunteered to help out at the DSWD.

Gabriela Representative Liza Maza also warned against the dangerous implications of the libel case on those who want to write about wrongdoings.

“We fear that this case will be used against individuals who would only want to express their views and sentiments about current administration and its agencies. It appears that they are testing the waters at the expense of bloggers who exercise their freedom of expression through cyberspace,” Maza said in a statement.

According to her, the DSWD could just answer the points that the blogger raised instead of going to the authorities.

“It is imperative that government officials should respect diverse views of people instead of attacking them. The internet blogs and other social networking sites serve as a venue for individuals, especially the youth to express their opinion and ideas. It would only appear antagonistic if even this very limited space would be hindered,” she said.

Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros also said she had appealed to Cabral to withdraw the complaint against the blogger.

Kasabay nito ay naitala ang 9-kataong nasawi dulot ng hagupit ni ‘Ondoy’ sa iba’t ibang panig ng rehiyon.
Paliwanag naman ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Admi nistration (PAGASA) flood forecasting center, ang bumuhos na ulan kahapon ay katumbas ng halos dalawang linggong normal na pag-ulan.
Nabatid pa na simula alas-otso hanggang alas-11:00 pa lamang ng umaga ay umabot na sa 112 millimeters ang volume ng bumuhos na ulan at sobra-sobra na umano ito para bumaha ang malaking bahagi ng Kalakhang Maynila.
Bagama’t sunud-sunod ang bagyong pumasok sa teritoryo ng Pilipinas nitong nakalipas na tatlong linggo, ang pinagsama-sama nilang buhos ay naitala lamang sa sukat na 300 millimeters.
Samantala, isa pa sa nakadagdag ng biglang paglaki ng tubig ay ang obligadong pagpapakawala ng tubig mula sa mga water reservoir na mabilis na napuno at umangat ang tubig sa critical level dahil na rin sa walang patid at tila galit na galit na buhos ng ulan.

Bukod pa rito, 37 kalsada sa Kalakhang Maynila ang idineklarang ‘impas sable’ o hindi madaanan ng maliliit na sasakyan.
Ngunit sa ulat ng Manila Police District (MPD) district tactical operations center, sa Maynila pa lamang ay 33 major at minor streets na ang hindi madaanan pagsapit pa lamang ng alas-12:30 ng tanghali.
Bunga nito, kinaila ngang gumamit ng mga 6x6 o 10-wheeler truck ang mga kawani ng Manila City Hall sa paghahatid ng mga relief goods sa evacuation centers at maging sa pag-rescue sa mga na-trap sa baha.
Sa kahabaan ng Epifanio Delos Santos Ave. (EDSA), daan-daang commuters ang na-stranded sa hindi inaasahang pag laki ng baha rito kung saan marami sa mga ito ang sumugod na at nagpakabasa sa ulan habang sinasagasa ang ga-tuhod hanggang ga-baywang na baha makaraan ang siyam na oras na pagtitiyaga sa walang galawang trapiko.
Sa Makati City, mahigit 1,000 pamilya sa Silverio Compound ng San Isidro ang kinailangang iligtas sa ga-bewang na baha. Samantalang umakyat din hanggang tuhod ang baha sa San Antonio , Palanan at Olimpia.
Sa Taft Ave. sakop ng Pasay City , umabot din hanggang sa bewang ang baha.
Sa Bgy. Putatan, Alabang at Sucat, Muntinlupa City , umabot sa 4,000 pa milya ang nagsilikas sa mga paaralan para sa kanilang kaligtasan.
“We need the help of the concerned agencies to help us evacuating hundreds of (families) in eight out of nine barangays in Muntinlupa. They are in danger,” pagsusumamo ni Muntinlupa City Rep. Rufino Biazon.
Ang mga tirahang barung-barong ng mahigit 1,000 pamilya sa San Isidro , Parañaque City ay nilamon din ng malaking tubig.
Bunga nito, nagpasaklolo kahapon si Parañaque City Rep. Roilo Golez sa pamahalaan upang saklolohan ang mahigit 5,000 pamilyang naapektuhan ng baha sa kanyang distrito. Karamihan umano sa mga ito ay ngayon pa lamang nakalasap ng baha sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon.
“These areas never experienced flooding in the past. Ngayon lang sila binaha kaya marami ang naapektuhan,” ani Golez habang tinutukoy ang mga lugar ng Bgy. San Antonio , Marcelo Green, Don Bosco, Moonwalk, Sun Valley , Merville at San Martin de Porres.
“We also need big trucks for distributions of relief goods,” ani Golez.
Si Bayan Muna party list Rep. Teodoro Casiño, sa kabilang dako, ay nanga lampag naman ng rescue teams para saklolohan ang mga pamilyang na-trap sa biglang pagbaha kung saan marami sa mga ito ay nasa bubungan na ng kanilang bungalow na mga bahay sa kasagsagan ng buhos ng ulan.
“Please prioritize the families on the roof of the house on P. Santos St. , Doña Peña cor. Road 1, Bgy. Tumana. Malulunod na daw sila doon,” anang kongresista.
Sa Kabikulan, tinatayang 1,000 hanggang 2,000-katao ang na-stranded matapos na harangin ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang kanilang paglalayag.
Sa Caliclan, Aklan, hindi rin pinayagang magbiyahe ang mga maliliit na bangka..
Sa inisyal na ulat na 9-kataong nasawi, isa rito ay mag-ama na nabagsakan ng isang bumagsak na pader sa kasagsagan ng baha at buhos ng ulan samantalang apat na bata ang nalunod at tatlo pa ang tinangay ng malakas na agos.
Hindi matiyak kung kasama sa bilang ang tatlong batang naiulat sa tanggapan ng alkalde ng Muntinlupa City na nalunod sa Bagumbayan River .

RIYADH: Six more cases of swine flu were identified in the Kingdom in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of reported cases to 45, the Ministry of Health announced yesterday.

Five of the six new cases are people who contracted the virus from patients in various hospitals in Riyadh, while the sixth case is a 25-year-old Saudi man who arrived from New Delhi yesterday.

Khaled Al-Mirghalani, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, told Arab News that the Saudi man, who arrived at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport aboard Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight SV763, was diagnosed with swine flu by quarantine officials at the arrival lounge.

“This is the first time we have found a case in a passenger coming from India,” he said, adding that the volume of passenger traffic between the Kingdom and India is huge.

“We are now monitoring all arriving passengers from all corners of the world,” the spokesman said, adding that his ministry has been taking maximum precautions to prevent the disease from entering the Kingdom through these passengers. “On the other hand, we rely on right thinking people to report any suspected infection to the ministry to help us in our efforts to combat the disease.”

He requested passengers who traveled aboard SV763 yesterday to monitor their health condition and any visible symptoms should be brought to the immediate notice of health officials.

The new cases in Riyadh include two Filipino nurses aged 51 and 52, a 21-year-old Saudi man, and two Saudi girls aged six months and one year.

Experts attending the workshop will be taken on field trips to the Haj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport and other places with huge concentration of pilgrims to get their ideas and suggestions in overcoming the current health crisis.

Al-Mirghalani said Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, who is slated to inaugurate the workshop, is open to any constructive suggestions to combat the disease.

Summer na naman kaya masarap na mag beach. Naaya kami ng mga kaibigan last friday sa isang private beach resort dito sa ksa. Matagal na rin kami rito pero hindi ko alam na mayroon din palang mga ganitong lugar dito na feeling mo wala ka sa saudi. Sarap din minsan ng nasa public place ka pero di mo suot yung abaya na malaking istorbo talaga sa pagkilos.

Medyo wrong timing nga lang yung outing namin dahil biglang umulan....hehehe. Napakadalang ng ulan dito sa saudi at natyempo pa sa swimming namin kaya medyo malamig. Super nag enjoy ang mga bata lalo si Josh dahil last swimming nila ay noong last summer vacation pa sa pilipinas.

Maganda yung place dahil may 3 swimming pool para sa mga ayaw sa dagat. May heater din ang mga pool kaya kahit malamig enjoy mga kids. May place din sa tabing-dagat na pwedeng pagtayuan ng picnic tent. Entrance fee is sr50/person (Php600)...hhmm...medyo mahal kumpara sa pinas pero worth naman sa saya at kahit sa sandaling pakiramdam na wala ka sa saudi.

The city government of Balanga is planning to build Wetland Center in an area covering three villages here, officially declared by the Department of Tourism as bird-watching sites. The villages of Puerto Rivas Ibaba, Sibacan and Tortugas here were declared by the Department of Tourism as bird-watching sites.

City Mayor Joet Garcia said that the Wetland Center will be a one-hectare area suited for educational viewing of wetland and migratory birds.

The city is home to rare birds endemic to the Philippines and an ideal stopover of migrating forest and water birds from Russia, China, Japan, Korea, Siberia, and as far as Canada.

Based on record, at least 35 species of birds were sighted in this city that included, among others, grey heron, black crowned night heron, whiskered tern, curlew sandpiper, purple heron, Chinese egret, Philippine duck, great egret, and common tern.

Garcia got the idea of establishing the Wetland Center in London last November during the launching of the DOT guide book on bird-watching sites in the Philippines led by DOT Secretary Ace Durano.

Balanga City is one of the thirteen bird-watching sites in the country being promoted by the DOT.

Garcia said the Wetland Center will help in educating the people about wetland and migratory birds. He added educating the people is an important step in involving them in protecting birds.

The city government of Balanga will also build facilities like viewing decks at the bird-watching areas here to lure tourists and bird watchers.

House Warming

I received this invitation from a good friend. They’re having a house warming next week. At last, the house they’ve been waiting for is finally finished after six months. They have always dreamed of a house that they can finally call their own. They have been saving up for constructing this house for quite a long time.

They got an interior designer that takes care of decorating inside and out. From the bedroom furniture to dining, kitchen, dressing tables and bathroom accessories. As a way of fulfilling one of their goals in life, they wanted everything to be perfect. It really is different when you have your own interior designer to arrange furniture and what accessories better suit you. Your designer knows your preferences and uses it as a foundation to designing your home. So he knows what suits your taste.

The designer picked the perfect color for the wardrobes and the dressing room for the house. The color of the furniture isn’t boring at all. By the way, the furniture were all bought from a leading furniture dealer. They also constructed this room where it’s a study room and a mini-library all in one. The ambiance is relaxing and makes you feel that it’s really comfortable to settle in with a book. There’s this huge desk that’s just right for studying, writing and reading.

Another part that attracted my attention was their music room wherein they installed a home theater entertainment set. You don’t even have to go to the movie theater to watch a film because of the size of their tv screen. The speakers are all around the room so from any angle, you hear the sounds of the movie playing. My favorite part is the kitchen. It’s big and has a wide space for cooking. Even if you host a celebration and took the liberty of supplying food, there is still a lot of space to move in while cooking batches for a whole community.

The landscaping is bright and clean. From the garage to the terrace, it’s really good. There’s a small grotto at the corner of the garden and surrounded by flowering plants. There’s a mini-fountain beside the grotto that emits a wonderful light during nighttime.

When I get tired, I just get on the computer and play online bingo. It relaxes me that even once in a day, I get to play free bingo on the internet. It’s like the real ones, too. Internet bingo has all the facilities you can get. When I’m bored, I burn off a little steam by playing internet bingo because before, I had to go to places far from home that host bingo games every weekend.

Christmas Recipes

Cooking is my passion. I wonder why other people say the kitchen is the least place they want in the house. I am proud when my kids say “Yummy! Tastes good! Terrific!” Their praises make me feel good and encourage to cook and try new more recipes.

This coming Christmas, my daughter is requesting for a new recipe. I started surfing the net to look for more Christmas recipes. How about Christmas cookie recipe? Pie? Fudge or cakes for desserts.

I already have a lot of Christmas recipes ready for this coming season. I am sure that they will love them the moment they taste my new found Christmas recipes.

My son wanted to join the school varsity team for soccer. He needs more practice in order to get the hang of the game and join. With that cause, we bought a soccer ball online and got a basketball and a freebie to go along with it.

This time on, he gets practice and he successfully became part of the varsity teams and plays other schools as well. He recently caught knowledge of lacrosse and wanted to learn how to play. My husband’s now teaching him and they have a lot of fun together. Hey, it also serves as bonding time for the both of them.

Rubiks Addict

My daughter has been surfing videos on Youtube and I don’t know how she came to know about the rubiks cube. I’ve bought 3. One for each of my 3 kids. Now, they don’t fight. The only problem is, they can’t complete the cube.

We've seen a 6 year old boy on television who can complete a 4 x 4 rubiks in just few minutes. My kids thought it's just as simple as that because the boy seems not having a hard time twisting the rubiks. But, I know it takes a lot of logic and practice to finish it. They spend hours on a cube just to complete 2-3 colors. There’s still room for improvement, though.

I have no difficulty in feeding my children vegetables. Their favorite is tomatoes. Just slice it into bite-size pieces and sprinkle a little salt, they’re satisfied with that and half a cup of rice. Given, I don’t encounter any problems in preparing their meals everyday.

We saw a television talk show, and they cooked something we call ‘champorado’. I didn’t like the taste of the food so I never cooked it for them not once. They were curious and so I was pushed to cook some for them. At first, they were excited because, according to them, it smelled like chocolate. And then I gave them a helping each. I feel so sorry for the poor champorado.

They only lasted a bite each. Like me, it didn’t taste gourmet to them. I guess, to each his own.

I’ve been to our dentist last month and I am very happy with the result. Not with my dental record but with the discount I got because I am using my insurance with Ameriplan. Hair Rebond

Mula noong magsimula si tin-tin na maging conscious sa kanyang physical looks naging problema na nya ang kanyang medyo natural curly hair. Napakahirap nga namang ayusin lalo sa umaga pagkatapos maligo, madalas wala ng time para magpatuyo at papasok sa school na basa pa ang buhok. Pag natuyo sa school asahan mo na iba-iba ang direksyon ng kanyang buhok.

Noong umuwi kami sa pinas, unang-una na nasa listahan nya ay ang pagpapa straight ng kanyang buhok. Kaya ilang araw pa lang kami ay nagpadala na agad sya sa david's salon. Almost 6 hours pala ang itatagal ng rebond kaya lang dahil desidido eh di ok lang sa kanya. At ang presyo, nalula yata ako sa P5000 na rebond...hehehe. Buti na lang straight ang hair ko at lalaki si Josh and Justin kaya di kailangan ng rebond.
After ng 6 hours na sakit daw sa kakahila at kakaplantsa ng buhok (iniwan ko kasi sya sa salon kasama si mil) natapos din. Tuwang-tuwa naman sya sa resulta dahil yung dating gusot na buhok ay naging deretso, malambot at shiny. Hindi sya nagbasa ng hair for 3 days, bawal daw. Then shampoo lang sya ng 3 times a week at may inilalagay na parang hot oil maintenance daw. Bawal daw itali o ipitin , kahit pony tail man lang , bawal!

Pagdating dito sa ksa at nagsimula na ang pasukan, gusto raw nyang maging officer sa CAT pagdating ng 4th year (3rd year na sya ngayon). Sabi ko sige join sya, kinabukasan wag na lang daw kasi bawal daw ang nakalugay ang buhok sa training, dapat nakatali. Imagine that! Dahil lang sa bagong rebond na hair ayaw na. After 3 days, sali na raw sya ok lang kahit mag-ipit ng hair kasi kung sakali ay sya lang daw maiiwan sa barkada nya na hindi sasali sa training. Pag kumulot daw ulit hair nya eh di pa rebond na lang ulit..what? another P5000?

Summer in France

It’s already summer and my kids want something new this time. They want to visit France and explore the beautiful beaches and resorts in the area. We are planning to rent a private apartment in Brest and experience the summer there.

My sons have been into sports just recently, when I told them that it would be for their better health. Now, they have a lot of sports that they both like. My elder son involves more in basketball, while the younger one likes soccer better.
